PVC film is a material that has a wide variety of applications, and is often used for the fabrication of furniture covers and protective products such as food delivery bags. Its heat resistant and insulating properties make it ideal for these types of products.
The simplest way to recycle PVC film is by shredding it into fragments of a suitable size. This method has been a long-standing method for recycling paper containers and other items made of laminated films, but it requires several processing steps and large-scale equipment.
Another method for recycling the laminated film is by peeling and separating it into fibrously struck paper layer and plastic film layer. The paper layers are separated into a thin strip, and the fibrously struck paper layer is collected as paper fibers by classifying it from the plastic film layer.
This method is similar to the conventional method for recycling the laminated film but has a few advantages: it can be done with a fewer number of processing steps and using smaller-scale equipment. It also reduces the amount of time required to process the laminated film, thereby saving on production costs.
The perforation of the PVC films can accelerate the transfer of heat, increase the adhesion of the veneer, and form a compact bonding region. However, the perforation diameter must be small enough to avoid the mass loss of the veneer. This is necessary to improve the thermal stability of plywood composites.
