Using PVC film for Laminate Production
The first step in producing the laminated veneer is to pre-treat the PVC film with a silane coupling agent, KH550. This is done by dilution of absolute ethanol with the coupling agent and spraying it evenly on both sides of the PVC films.
Secondly, it is essential to ensure that the perforation diameter and hot pressing temperature are in the ideal range for the glueline bonding between the PVC film and the veneer. This can be achieved by comparing the center core-to-core bonding of the sheet to historical results or desired values, and then adjusting cycle settings as necessary to achieve optimal results.
Aside from this, the pressing time of the laminated veneers is also important for ensuring that the PVC films melt in a specific temperature that will enable the initiation of glueline bonding between the PVC film layers and the plywood veneers. This is because the glueline bonding between the PVC films and the plywood veneers is a key factor that affects the mechanical properties of the laminated veneers. The hot pressing temperature plays an important role in enhancing the bonding strength between the PVC films and the plywood veneers.
